East Coast/West Coast

In case anyone hasn't heard yet, Michael got a new job!  When Michael started actively looking for a new job we were kind of hoping that we'd be moving to Vegas, but that's not in the cards for us at the moment because his new job is here in Phoenix.  Even though it's not exactly what we thought we wanted, we are excited and thankful for this opportunity.  He'll be working for Monster.com!

Anyway, as part of their training, they send all their employees to Boston for a week.  For about 2.4 seconds, we toyed with the idea of me and the kids going with him.  However, this idea quickly got shot down when we realized that that would pretty much just be a nightmare.  The hotel is an hour outside the city, the flight is super long, it would be expensive, and I'd basically be cooped up in a hotel all day with two kids under two.  Oh, and we'd barely see Michael anyway.  Yeah, not fun.  Then my parents invited me and the kids to go stay with them in LA for the week.  A much better idea!  So, even though the idea of flying with both kids by myself freaked me out a little, (okay, a lot) off we went!

What a fun trip!  Matthew absolutely adored the change of scenery and wasn't bored at all the whole week.  (He gets easily bored here- especially in the summer!)  Plus, it was SO nice to let him run around outside (yay mild weather!) and he definitely adored playing with his grandparents and soaking in all their attention.  We had so much fun, and can't wait to go back.

The flight definitely wasn't easy, but the kids were champs and we all survived just fine.  :-)

Michael always claimed to hate the city of Boston, but I think he came home hating it a little less.  ;-)  These pictures make me want to go on a Boston vacation!
